Should I have named our blog 'Ballad of the Shoes'?

So on Saturday I was at the mall shopping for some pants for Mark, which as you know can be a difficult task. (Refer to post below: too big and too small.) But while looking for the men's department in Belk (which happens to be a separate store completely in Crabtree - what is the point of that?!) I was wildly distracted by a fabulous pair of Nine West shoes. So I, naturally, picked them up to check the price and they were 25% off. But as I was admiring the modern yet retro loveliness in my hand I started thinking (and I'm sure anyone who has seen my closet is also thinking) 'I really don't need another pair of shoes'... and at that very moment a women (whom we will refer to as Shoe Satan) handed me a 20% off coupon and said she was leaving so I could have it. Fantastic! Now the shoes will be 45% off - it is definitely a sign that I must buy them, right?! Right! So I pick that baby up and walk up to the very busy shoe counter to ask for my size. (Have you ever been in the Belk shoe department on a Saturday? Craziness!) So the salesman brings me The Shoes and is even nice enough to bring it in 2 sizes, just in case. I flip open the box with anticipation and.... it's the wrong shoes! So I quickly grab the other box - same wrong shoes but now one size too big. So I wait again for a sales person to be free, and I finally grab a girl as she walks to the back and thrust my shoe into her hand explaining that I got the wrong ones and need this one in a size 9. She assures me she can get it and I wait again, anticipation building - so when I open the box and guess what - right shoes, wrong color- I am beside myself. My original salesman comes up to me and I inform him of all the blunders, to which he profusely apologizes and promises that he will take care of it, and he rushes off to get me my shoes. So when he comes back and actually gets down on his knees to help me put the shoes on I just didn't have the heart to tell him that he has the right shoes but wrong color (again - aarrgh!). How a person can think that pewter can be the same as brown I have no idea - he actually held them right next to each other and said "see it's the right shoe!" Clearly colorblind. So I waited until he walked away to yank those puppies off my feet and get out of that store as fast as I could. Apparently I was not meant to get those shoes. And you know the funniest part - is when I looked for images to put on this post, I was able to find pictures of all the wrong shoes, but not the ones I wanted. So it is definitely not meant to be... you will just have to imagine the fabulousness of them... (Insert fab photo and awe-inspiring music here.)
All the wrong ones:

I ended up coming home and ordering pants online... Apparently all shopping for Mark must be done online. But it turns out that a lot of stores have more sizes online than in the store. So OldNavy.com was a lifesaver - and I ended up ordering him 3 pairs of pants and a few t-shirts that were on sale.
